Sacramento Kings Earn Props From Jimmy Fallon
By Rafe Wong
During their season opener, see how the Sacramento Kings caught the attention of famous talk show host Jimmy Fallon.
The Sacramento Kings are not a very popular team outside the city of Sacramento. Unless the purple and white become one of the powerhouses of the NBA, no one is going to care about them. But with that said, the Kings did attract the attention of one celebrity during their season-opening game. And no, he is not from Sacramento, California.
Famous talk show host Jimmy Fallon was the celebrity that noticed the Kings as he took to Twitter giving props to the organization’s fans. If you did not watch the Kings play the Jazz the other night, fans of the Golden 1 Center attempted to hinder the road team’s free throw shooting by having various build-a-head signs of Fallon himself making hilarious faces.
At first, it seemed like Fallon was confused about why the fans of Sacramento were holding up signs of his face. But when someone on Twitter explained that it was to distract the Jazz players while shooting free throws, he understood and gave the fans props for the effort.
Conclusion
It is pretty cool to see that Kings fans were recognized by a celebrity such as Fallon. Maybe he will even call out the Golden 1 Center crowd during his next show? But hopefully next time, a popular figure can acknowledge the Kings based on their play.
It may take a while for Sacramento’s youth to click together. But based on their recent performance, there is some promise that they are on the right track.
