Lead by Sacramento Kings’ Bogdan Bogdanovic and Nemanja Bjelica, the Serbian national basketball team were able to get a win against Estonia.

With the FIBA-qualifying matches taking place this week, it means some players on the Sacramento Kings are on the hardwood representing their countries. This leads us to the Serbian national basketball team where the roster contains two Kings players in Bogdan Bogdanovic and Nemanja Bjelica. Both guys were able to contribute to Serbia’s recent win against Estonia.

Serbia was able to complete a beatdown against Estonia by a score of 91-65. In my opinion, Bjelica was Serbia’s best player as he finished the game with 14 points, six rebounds, and two assists while shooting 54.5% (6/11) from the floor. For Bogdanovic, he finished the match scoring three points and grabbing one rebound. It is important to note that Bogdan recorded three minutes of court time due to leaving early. There is the indication that Bogdan experienced pain in his knee which is why he sat out for the remainder of the game.

Final Thoughts

It is not a good sign if the report is true that Bogi suffered pain in his knee. Just a few months ago, Bogdan underwent minor surgery on his knee in order to be completely healthy when the 2018-2019 campaign starts. So it would be discouraging if Bogdan is hobbled a bit when the upcoming season begins. Hopefully, he is healthy to begin the year with the Kings with no concerns.

To conclude, it is good to see Bogi and Nemanja get the win for their country. Especially for Bjelica who had a good performance statistically.

With their match against Estonia now in the books, Serbia does not have another FIBA-qualifying match until November. This means that basketball is over for Bogdanovic and Bjelica until training camp starts for the Kings.
