3 Headlines: Utah Jazz at Sacramento Kings (Season Opener)
By Rafe Wong
Check out what I believe to be the top three headlines when the Sacramento Kings face off against the Utah Jazz in the regular-season opener.
Most likely the Sacramento Kings will not be competing for a playoff spot this season. But with that said, there are still some games on their schedule that should excite the Kings community.
One of these games is when the purple and white face off against the Utah Jazz on October 17th, and here are my top three headlines to focus on for this game.
Headline #1: Season Opener!
This headline is an obvious one as this game will be the first time the Kings step on the hardwood for their 2018-2019 campaign. Not only will it be the first time the Kings play in the upcoming season, but the match will be hosted at the Golden 1 Center. Expect the atmosphere of the game to be electric. With a lot of optimism rising towards the Kings this season, their fans will be sure to make it uncomfortable for the Jazz.
Headline #2: Rookies Begin Their Careers
A big reason for Kings fans to be excited about this season is because of their young talent. Specifically, Harry Giles and Marvin Bagley III.
Both Giles and Bagley will begin their NBA careers in this game. Both players are expected to do great things with the Kings due to them being highly-coveted prospects in their past. Both have the potential to be star players one day, and the Kings and their fans are ready to witness the beginning of their journeys.
Headline #3 Spiderman Is In Town
The Jazz are expected to finish high in the Western Conference standings this year. A big part of that is because of the rise of Donovan Mitchell. Last season, Mitchell took the NBA by storm as he was the best player in his draft class. With him being so productive at such a young age, it most likely means he will be a star more sooner than later.
The Kings will get the first shot at Mitchell in his sophomore season. Hopefully, the purple and white will be able to at least maintain the star power that Mitchell brings to the game.
