Recently the public found out what Marvin Bagley III’s rating will be in the newest NBA 2K game. Is his rating too low or too high?

For the Sacramento Kings’ rebuild to gain momentum, they need Marvin Bagley III to make strides in his game. This summer, the Kings were blessed with the second overall pick in the 2018 draft, and they used that pick on Bagley out of the University of Duke. Vlade Divac and company hope that Bagley can be their potential star player as he is crazy athletic, versatile, and has a relentless motor.

Not too long ago, the news came out that Bagley will be a 78 rating in the newest NBA 2K game. Not a rating for a star player, but a good start for someone who has not played an NBA game yet. But is this rating for Bagley too high or too low?

My Thoughts

Right now, I would rank Bagley a little lower, a 75 to be more specific. In my opinion, Balgey has not proven to be a 78 at the moment. Do not get me wrong, he is a super raw talent that has a good chance to be a good player in the NBA. But in summer league, he was wildly inconsistent and definitely has flaws that need to be addressed going forward.

People can say that the summer league does not matter, but in my mind, that notion only applies if one dominates in the league. But if a player does struggle against competition that is either young or G-League caliber, then being worried about that player is understandable. To me, Bagley was just ok in summer league. Not bad, but not very good. Which is why I think a 75 is fair for him.
