The Sacramento Kings and Nemanja Bjelica have agreed on a contract which will have the Serbian star playing in Sacramento for three years.

The Sacramento Kings are now making moves in free agency. Just hours after acquiring Yogi Ferrell, the purple and white have agreed on a three-year contract with Nemanja Bjelica.

According to Shams Charania, NBA Insider for Yahoo Sports, the total value of the three-year deal is $20.5 million. According to James Ham, Kings Insider for NBC Sports Bay Area, the third year of the contract is non-guaranteed.

Last year, Bjelica was a solid asset for the Minnesota Timberwolves as he averaged 6.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. He also was able to make 46.1% of his shots from the floor, 41.5% from beyond the arc, and 80% from the free-throw line.

Final Thoughts

With the signing of Bjelica, it gives the Kings the stretch four that they need. As he showed last year, Bjelica can shoot the ball from the perimeter and create spacing on the offensive end. Bjelica was also versatile for the Wolves as he had to play small forward during parts of the season due to Jimmy Butler sitting out with a knee injury.

Bjelica is not a pure small forward, a position that the Kings desperately need, but he is a good player who does fulfill a need on their roster and who can help the team going forward. If Bjelica is able to be the shooter he was with the Timberwolves last year, then I would say his contract was a good investment for the Kings to take a chance on.
