Sacramento Kings players Frank Mason and Harry Giles visited Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas before playing in a charity softball game on June 16.

The Sacramento Kings front office is making their final preparations before Thursday’s draft, but the players are working hard and doing good deeds.

Frank Mason and Harry Giles did a lot of good on Saturday, June 16.

Children’s hospital visit

First, Mason, Giles, and Orlando Magic forward Wesley Iwundu paid a visit to the kids at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas.  The hospital was greatly appreciative as you can see in the Tweet below.

Then, the group headed over to play in Frank Mason’s charity softball game.  The softball was a huge success too and they raised money for charity.

It was also a chance for Mason to return to where he played college basketball, and he reunited with plenty of old teammates.  Inviting current teammate Harry Giles was a nice touch, and they represented the Kings well on Saturday.

Final thoughts

Frank Mason and Harry Giles spent June 16 together giving back.  They visited Children’s Mercy Hospital and played in a charity softball game.  The two young Kings are setting a good example and being leaders off the court early in their careers.

The excitement continues to build around Giles return to the basketball court.  He sat out all of last season because of persistent knee injuries.  The reports of his play are glowing, though.  We should be able to see him put on a Kings uniform in just over two weeks at the California Classic Summer League.
