Sacramento Kings point guard Frank Mason III is hosting a charity softball game on June 16, and a surprising King is playing in the game.

Sacramento Kings players are using the offseason to improve their games, but also for charity work.  Frank Mason III just wrapped up his rookie season with the Kings and is growing into his role as the backup point guard behind De’Aaron Fox.  Mason is hosting a charity softball game next Saturday in Kansas City, Kansas.  Check out the flyer for the game below.

Harry Giles taking part

Frank Mason has fellow Kings rookie Harry Giles playing in the game.  That is an exciting development considering Giles sat out all season because of a series of knee injuries.  There is limited video available of Giles practicing, but his teammates rave about his play.  It is good to see Giles taking part in charity softball because that means he is feeling positive about his health.

Final thoughts

Frank Mason is hosting a charity softball in Kansas on June 16.  Fellow King Harry Giles is taking part in the game.  You can buy tickets to the game here.  The proceeds go to the National Youth Foundation.

Mason is worth watching next season.  Expect the Kings to bring in some competition for his backup point guard spot this offseason.  He shot just 37.9 percent from the field last season.  Mason needs to improve his shot selection going forward.  It was a positive start to his career, but he needs to continue to expand his game to be worthy of his role as Sacramento heads toward contention.
