Check out who is on the list of players that will be participating in today’s pre-draft workout hosted by the Sacramento Kings.
Today the Sacramento Kings will begin their third pre-draft workout of the week. Their first workout was held last Monday while their latest workout happened last Wednesday.
With that being said, let us jump into which players the Kings will be scouting today as well as a little information about each guy.
List of Prospects
Joel Berry (Guard/6’0″/185 pounds)
Joel Berry had a great career with the North Carolina Tar Heels. Throughout his tenure with the team, Berry achieved many team and individual accolades which include winning the March Madness tournament in 2017 and being named the MVP of the championship game.
In the four years he lived in Chapel Hill, Berry averaged 12.7. points, 2.8 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per contest. In his most recent season with the Tar Heels, he averaged 17.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.
Jordan McLaughlin (Guard/6’1″/162 pounds)
Jordan McLaughlin spent four seasons with the USC Trojans in which he averaged 12.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.8 assists, and 1.7 steals per contest while making 43.9% of his shots from the floor and 37.9% from the perimeter.
A debate can be made that McLaughlin played his best basketball during his senior year as he averaged 12.8 points, 3.7 rebounds, 7.8 assists, and two steals a game while shooting 44.9% from the court and 39.7% from three.
Todd Withers (Forward/6’8″/215 pounds)
The Kings will take a look at Todd Withers who spent the last four years at Queens University at Charlotte. During his four-year span, he averaged 12.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game.
In his last year with the Royals, Withers averaged 13.6 points, eight rebounds, and 1.7 blocks a game while making almost 50% of his shots from the floor and 40.2% from beyond the arc.
Hayden Dalton (Forward/6’8″/185 pounds)
Hayden Dalton is coming off a career year with the Wyoming Cowboys as he averaged 17.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per contest while making 45.8% of his shots from the court and 40.3% from the three-point line.
In his total three years in Laramie, Dalton contributed 11.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists a game while making 44.5% of his shots from the court and 37.3% from beyond the arc.
Dusan Ristic (Center/7’0″/245 pounds)
Dusan Ristic has spent the last four years playing for the Arizona Wildcats. During that span, he averaged 8.4 points and 4.6 rebounds a game while making 56.5% of his shots. His best season came in his senior year as he averaged 12.2 points and 6.9 rebounds a contest while making 56.9% of his shots.
Prior to attending the University of Arizona, Ristic spent time playing for Radnicki FMP and Crvena Zvezda, both professional basketball teams located in Serbia.
Jock Landale (Center/6’11″/255 pounds)
It took a few years, but Jock Landale was an absolute beast this season for the Saint Mary’s Gaels as he averaged 21.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, and one block per game. He also made 64% of his shots from the floor and 74.6% from the free-throw line.
In the four years the Australian native spent in the Bay Area, he averaged 13.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 0.7 blocks per game while shooting 62.5% from the floor and 73.8% from the charity stripe.
Final Thoughts
Even though the Kings have the second overall pick in the draft, this workout is focusing more on talent that is projected to be selected in the second round. That seems to be a trend with the Kings in their first three draft workouts of the offseason, which is not a bad play considering they do hold the 36th overall pick in the draft as well.
