The Sacramento Kings travel to take on the Portland Trail Blazers on December 20, 2016. This article predicts the Kings’ box score for that game.
The Sacramento Kings return home to the Golden 1 Center to do battle with the Portland Trail Blazers. Tonight’s contest is the second meeting between the teams this season. On November 11th, the Kings traveled to Portland and were defeated by the Blazers 122-120 in overtime.
Last time out, the Kings were destroyed by the Mavericks in Dallas by a score of 99-79 . I know you are not excited to see it, but below is a highlight video from that game in case you missed the action.
Without further ado, let us get to my prediction of the Sacramento Kings’ box score for tonight’s contest against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Box Score Prediction
The Portland Trail Blazers are a team that is a tale of the two ends of the floor.
On offense, they rank highly in every category. They are 8th in the NBA in offensive rating and 8th in pace.
If you flip over to the defense end, they are the absolute worst team in defensive rating at 110.4 points per 100 possessions allowed and they allow 113 points per game tied for 28th in the NBA.
This is truly a team that loves to play shootouts. That is a very appealing style to watch, but not the way the Kings enjoy playing. It should be a fun back and forth game if the Sacramento Kings play at the Blazers pace.
As you can see, I predicted the return of Rudy Gay tonight. He is listed as questionable, but that is an improvement from the doubtful tag he was labeled with the last two games. That improvement allows me to think he returns tonight, but make sure you check twitter or watch the pregame show to be certain.
The Kings have been struggling to score, but nothing fixes that like playing the Portland Trail Blazers. Sacramento has failed to top 100 points in its last three contests and last games’ 79 points were abysmal. I predict the Blazers will allow the Kings to break that streak and score 110 points tonight.
Summary
There you have it, my prediction of the Sacramento Kings’ box score for tonight’s contest. I am building excitement to watch tonight’s game. The first meeting was fun and action packed. The only thing missing from the first game was a Kings’ win. Let us hope, they right that wrong tonight and walk away victorious at home. Enjoy the game.
