Three Kings of the Night: The Refs Are Out For Us Edition

facebooktwitterreddit

Is it just me, or is the referees who officiate Sacramento Kings’ basketball games have a vendetta out against us? I mean, what gives here? Doesn’t our superstar, DeMarcus Cousins, deserves the “star player” treatment when it comes to foul calls?

  • Apparently, Cousins is not that type of player in the refs eyes. To them, he is still that immensely talented, but immature punk that enter the league a few years ago. To the refs, he is still the player that picks up technical fouls at the drop of a hat. That is what Boogie is to the refs.

Although we all know that Boogie has changed, the refs have not, which we all seen clearly in the past week. Remember the game against the Mavericks, where cousins fouled out of a tight game by “shoving” Tyson Chandler? Chandler should had been in Hollywood receiving a Golden Globe award for his “I got ran over by a truck” act, but the refs called foul No. 6 on Boogie, which very well cost us the game.

The same thing happened last night in Sacramento’s 98-94 loss to the Blazers. Once again, down the stretch in a tight game, the refs might had thought to themselves:

“Oh no! The Kings might beat the Blazers. We can’t let that happen!”

So what do the refs do? Call two phantom calls on Boogie, once again fouling him out of a close game in the closing seconds. To add injury to insult, the refs switched up an out of bounds call on the Kings when we could all see that the ball was off of a Blazer.

I think it’s safe to say the refs have it out for the Kings. It has been this way ever since 2002, when the refs practically gave the Lakers Game Six of the Western Conference Finals. Yes I said it, the refs GAVE that game away. I still can’t process how fixed that game was, and neither can a lot of Kings fans out there.

Is it too much to ask for the refs to show a little, just a little, favor towards us in a game? Are you there ref Gods? Show us a little favor for once please?

    Three Kings of the Night

    One King- Darren Collision

It was a very productive night for Collison, as he scored 13 points, snagged seven rebounds and dished out eight assist. But he had a critical (ref induced) turnover that cost the Kings the game.

    Two Kings- DeMarcus Cousins

Cousins had yet another double-double delight against the Blazers, going for 22 points and dominating the boards, grabbing 19 rebounds. If only the refs would let him finish the game.

    Three Kings-Rudy Gay

Gay led the Kings with 26 points, and contributed five rebounds, but when the game was on the line, and with Boogie forced out of the game by the refs, he couldn’t deliver when it mattered. Sometimes it falls, sometimes it doesn’t.
