Vs. Denver Nuggets April 9 (7 PM PST/10 PM EST)
If you think about it, the Denver Nuggets are kind of like our big brothers. They are a small-market team that has done exactly what we hope to achieve – build a championship team around an offensively-slanted center (Sabonis) and a dynamic point guard (Fox).
Anyway, our third to last game of the season is a home game against our big brothers. Anyone who has followed my work knows that I am concerned about the Nuggets after they lost Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (one of the best role players in the league) for nothing this offseason. If their youth don't step up in a big way, they are going to have a hard time maintaining their status as inner circle title contenders.
If they aren't inner circle title contenders, they will be in our tier of outer circle/darkhorse contenders. That means that we should be competing for playoff seeding in the jam-packed Western Conference. So, this home game against the Nuggets to put a bow on the regular season could have some massive seeding implications.
Who knows, it could be the difference between us hosting a playoff series (or two) or us having to play four of seven games on the road for every matchup we're a part of.
