5. Bojan Bogdanovic
Bojan Bogdanovic is already 34 years old and has some injury trouble, but he still averages almost 20 points a game. He could really help out some wannabe contenders, like the Kings, to take that next step, and The Ringer’s Kevin O’Connor mentioned him as part of a duo the Kings should target to shake things up.
The question is just whether or not the Pistons would be willing to move him. They are currently 4-37, one of the worst NBA teams we have ever seen. They are also incredibly young and still far away from completing their rebuild. Veterans who can do at least some good things on the court and lead by example are crucial at that stage.
At the same time, however, the Pistons might just want to get as many young players and draft assets as possible. At this point, it is still difficult to predict what will happen in Detroit, which is why Bogdanovic is ranked pretty much in the middle between probable and pipe dream.
It won’t be impossible to get a deal done, but the Pistons are also not actively shopping Bogdanovic.
4. Matisse Thybulle
The Kings are still on a quest to find solid 3-and-D role players. Matisse Thybulle would be a nice fit. He defends well, especially off the ball, and averages 1.6 steals per game.
Plus, he’s been shooting close to 40 percent from three since last season. He could be just the kind of role player the Kings need and fits the team’s timeline at 26 years old.
The Portland Trail Blazers have not shown any intention to trade him, however. They are rebuilding around Scoot Henderson, Shaedon Sharpe, and Anfernee Simons. Thybulle is a nice addition to that core, leading the team in steals and blocks, and they might want to keep him around.
On the other hand, he is not a part of the core, however, and probably not untouchable. For the right offer, the Blazers might consider moving him but they might also just want to hold on to a good defender for when they are a better team.
