The Sacramento Kings have done a nice job of improving their roster this offseason. However, it feels like they are still one trade away from truly entering inner circle title contender territory.

To swing that big trade, the Kings will probably need to include some draft capital, as they don't have too much young talent on their roster, and what they do have (Keegan Murray, Keon Ellis, and Devin Carter), they probably want to keep to help them make their title push.

So, how are the Kings' draft assets looking these days? How many first round picks do they have? How many seconds? In this article, we break that all down.

Kings Future First Round Picks

The NBA's collective bargaining agreement allows teams to trade picks up to seven years into the future. Based on that, we will be focusing on picks all the way through the 2031 NBA Draft.

As of right now, the Kings have access to six first round picks. Five of them are regular first round picks (2026, 2027, 2028, 2029, and 2030), while one (2031) is a pick swap with the San Antonio Spurs, where the Kings get the lower of the two picks. As you'll recall, this swap is a part of the DeMar DeRozan sign-and-trade.

The Kings owe their 2025 first round pick to the Atlanta Hawks (as a part of the Kevin Huerter trade). The pick is top 12 protected. So, if the Kings finish in the bottom 12 this season (fingers crossed they don't), the pick will convey to 2026. If that happens, it is top 10 protected. And if the Kings finish in the bottom 10 (things will have gone very wrong), the Hawks will instead get the Kings' 2026 and 2027 second round picks.

Kings Future Second Round Picks

As of right now, the Kings have four second round picks between now and 2031. Those picks are in the years 2026, 2027, 2029, and 2031. Their 2025 and 2028 second round picks belong to the Chicago Bulls (as a part of the DeRozan deal). Meanwhile, their 2030 second round pick belongs to the Indiana Pacers (as a part of the Domantas Sabonis deal).
