Michael Porter Jr. provides an upgrade for the Sacramento Kings
The Kings have the luxury of offering contracts rich enough to match for Porter Jr. without sacrificing their biggest stars. Harrison Barnes and Kevin Huerter do the trick. It may come at the cost of some of their key rotation players, but Porter raises their ceiling.
Porter came into the league projected to be an efficient scorer, which is something he has more or less lived up to. However, during that time, he has also unexpectedly become a quality defender, which undoubtedly played a role in the Nuggets' ascension to winning a title in 2023.
His development would make him worth taking a flyer on. The Kings are in desperate need of some help along the wing. While they have the promising Keegan Murray in their arsenal, the youthful Porter Jr. give them another two-way wing that would give them more production than the aging Barnes or perfectly adequate Huerter.
