Predicting when the NBA Schedule will be released
By Mat Issa
After a strong offseason, fans of the team can't wait to watch their Sacramento Kings in action. However, you may have noticed after a quick Google search that the regular season schedule has yet to be announced. So, when will that happen?
When Does The NBA Usually Announce Its Schedule?
Normally, the NBA announces its schedule for the upcoming season sometime in the middle of August. Over the last three years, here is when the NBA has announced its schedule.
Season | Date Announced |
---|---|
2023-24 | Friday, August 18 |
2022-23 | Wednesday, August 17 |
2021-22 | Friday, August 20 |
Another piece of information that could be useful to us comes from an article by Vivid Seats. According to them, the NBA will release its schedule sometime between Friday, August 16, and Tuesday, August 20.
When Will The NBA Release the 2024-25 Regular Season Schedule?
Okay, I know this is a bit of a cop-out, but I'm going to take two guesses here. Judging from the last three years, the NBA may be using a little bit of a pattern with their scheduling announcements. The cadence of said pattern appears to be Friday one year and Wednesday the next. If that is the case, in this cycle, the announcement should come on a Wednesday. So, based on that theory, the schedule would be announced on Wednesday, August 21 (which falls outside the date range predicated by Vivid Seats).
My other guess is that they do it on a Friday like they did last year. The reason for this is that it's just cooler to break news like that on a Friday when everyone is free and able to think about planning future events (you could make the same case for Sundays). If that's the case, the schedule will be released this year on Friday, August 16.
Regardless, we'll soon know the Kings' regular season schedule. And when we do, we better reserve our tickets fast because it seems like it's going to be one hell of a season (or at least, I sure hope it will be!).
