Sacramento Kings prized offseason addition DeMar DeRozan has accomplished quite a lot over the course of his decade-and-a-half-long NBA career. So far, DeRozan has been selected to six All-Star games and three All-NBA teams.

DeRozan is the ultimate hooper. What makes him great and what inspires him to keep going is his love for the sport. DeRozan isn't in it for the individual accolades. He's in it for the love of the game.

With that said, DeRozan is a tad bit motivated by individual achievements. At least enough to not be just a one-time All-Star.

"We were finally getting good. The year before that, I made my first All-Star team...I just never wanted to be a one-time All-Star," DeRozan joked on a recent episode of the Club 520 Podcast.

After saying that, DeRozan hilariously realized that Jeff Teague (the host of the podcast he was on) was only a one-time All-Star (in 2014-15) during his 12-year NBA career.

Jeff Teague Knows How To Take a Joke

I don't think there is a book on how to be a guest on a podcast. But if there was one, I'm pretty sure it would say that you shouldn't throw shade at the host of the podcast you are guest appearing on!

Fortunately, deprecating humor is kind of Teague's modus operandi on the show, and he was able to take the jab in stride. After all, it is pretty easy to poke fun at yourself and quickly get over it when you have logged over 800 career games in the best basketball association on the planet. At the end of the day, Teague knows he was a very good basketball player in his heyday.

Other One-Time All-Stars

For those wondering, Teague is one of 170 NBA/ABA players to only have one All-Star appearance in their career. Some names that you might recognize include Jason Williams, Rik Smits, Jameer Nelson, Anthony Mason, Kenyon Martin, Otis Thorpe, Danny Ainge, and Xavier McDaniel.

With six career All-Star appearances, DeRozan is tied for 92nd all-time in career All-Star appearances. When you are that high up in the all-time ranks, I think it is okay if you make a clever joke or two.
