The Sacramento Kings are one of the most frustrating teams in the league this season. They can look like a true playoff threat one night and then completely fall apart the next game.

This inconsistency has not only taken Kings fans on an emotional rollercoaster all season long, but it might also cost the team a playoff appearance. The West is finally healthy and home to some of the brightest stars in the NBA. Other teams have gotten significantly better, and Sacramento is struggling to keep up.

The offense isn’t clicking like it did last season, and Mike Brown’s vision of a competitive defense has not come true. None of that, it seems, will change until the roster does.

So, let’s look at six players who might play their last game in a Kings’ uniform soon.

6. Malik Monk

As painful as it is, Malik Monk has to be on this list. He will be an unrestricted free agent after the season, and until he has signed a new contract, there is no security that he will stay in Sacramento.

Many things are suggesting that he should stay: Monk has an established role on this team and has blossomed in that position. He is playing the best basketball of his career on a team with one of his closest friends.

By playing so well, Monk has earned a serious pay raise, however, and other teams might be able to outbid the Kings. Then, it will come down to Monk’s decision and nothing else. There should definitely be interest from both sides to find a new deal, but for now, nothing is certain.
