1. The Toronto Raptors

After shipping Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby to Indiana and New York, the Toronto Raptors are primed for a rebuild. They have some interesting young pieces in Scottie Barnes, RJ Barrett, and Immanuel Quickley, but are not winning anything this season.

In the summer, they will have plenty of cap space to add pieces around their core. Malik Monk could be a nice addition with his ability to score, create for himself and others, and completely change the energy of the game.

He could share playmaking responsibilities with Immanuel Quickley and add some fire to the young squad. The Raptors like to run similar sets as the Kings with DHOs and high post actions. Monk thrived in Sacramento’s system, completely reshaping his identity as an NBA player, and could do the same in Toronto if they wanted to chase him in free agency.

Defensively, there would be concerns with him and Quickley in the same backcourt, but rumor has it that the Raptors tried to get Monk in a potential deal that would have sent Pascal Siakam to Sacramento. The Raptors are, however, still quite a bit away from being a playoff team it seems so Monk might not want to go there over staying with the Kings.
