1. Harrison Barnes

Harrison Barnes’ contract extension has been a point of contention among Kings fans all season long. He is not consistently good defensively and has a tendency to disappear offensively.

Coach Mike Brown has defended his veteran starter plenty of times this season, and he truly does not have an easy role on this squad. The ball doesn’t end up in his ends a lot, so he has to find ways to impact games otherwise. That’s not an easy thing to do, and in March, Barnes hasn’t done much outside of scoring.

Over five games, he scored a total of 47 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, dished out 3 assists, got 1 block, and 2 steals. Other than against Houston, his scoring was solid but a lot of times his overall production is not enough.

The Kings won’t move Barnes just to move him because they do not really have anyone to take his place. If the right deal to get a high-level 3-and-D wing requires them to move Barnes, however, he will be leaving Sacramento.

As mentioned before, the team needs a shakeup, especially in the starting lineup, and Barnes is one of the players likely to be a casualty of those changes.
