2. Patrick Beverley

Patrick Beverley might seem like a rather odd choice for the Kings at first. He has not been a very good three-point shooter these past few seasons, and the team’s priority was to get a wing defender.

At 6’2”, Beverley would not have helped too much in that department, even though he guards up rather well, but he would have added another ballhandler who puts in the work defensively. If you can’t get a wing-stopper, you might as well get a good guard defender. anyone who can stop players on the perimeter would have been helpful for the Kings.

Beverley brings another interesting asset to the court, however. He is a fighter and a passionate teammate. The Kings could use someone like that. Almost all of their losses this season, especially to some of the worst teams in the league, came due to a lack of fight and energy.

Too often, the Kings allow teams they should beat handily to outhustle them and that is a problem. We just saw them loose to the Detroit Pistons after all. Beverley could add that element as well as some tough defense the Kings desperately need.

The Milwaukee Bucks got him to do just that and only had to send out Cam Payne and a second-round pick.
