Richard Styman: MavsDraft & Locked On NBA Big Board

Richard Styman has been covering the draft for years. He has a substack (mavsdraft.substack.com) and he also appears on the Locked On Podcast Network's daily draft show. He also hosts community mock drafts (I've had the pleasure of participating in one). Here is what he said about Carter's fit with the Kings:

""Devin Carter is exactly what the Kings need: a lockdown defender who can hit shots and run a pick & roll, essentially as a bonafide Davion Mitchell (who unfortunately hasn't worked out for them yet). Offensively, he is more capable, given his self-creation, massive shooting improvement (with fewer red flags than Mitchell), and pristine fit next to Fox and Monk as both a starter and bench guard next to both of them. With NBA spacing, faster tempo, and stronger talent around him, every breakout category in his game should cleanly translate up on both ends of the floor for Carter. This is a home run pick after Carter’s breakout junior season at Providence.""
