3 Sacramento Kings players who are rated too low on NBA 2K25
By Mat Issa
Keegan Murray
2K Rating: 80
Speaking of Murray, there is no 2K rating that grinds my gears more than the one they gave to our precious soon-to-be third-year forward. As of right now, Murray has a 2K rating of 80, which is good for 99th in the entire league.
Seeing Murray viewed as a top 100 player in the league is heartwarming, but again, it's the players that they have in front of him that have me scratching my head.
Along with Thomas, guys like Jalen Duren (81), Nikola Vucevic (81), Miles Bridges (81), Chris Paul (81), RJ Barrett (81), Jonas Valanciunas (81), D'Angelo Russell (81) and Deandre Ayton (83), are all ranked ahead of him. Here is the EPM of all those players compared to Murray:
Player | Estimated Plus-Minus (EPM) |
---|---|
Deandre Ayton | -0.3 |
RJ Barrett | +0.2 |
Miles Bridges | -0.5 |
Jalen Duren | -0.5 |
Keegan Murray | +1.8 |
Chris Paul | +0.7 |
D'Angelo Russell | +1.6 |
Cam Thomas | -1.4 |
Jonas Valanciunas | -0.3 |
Nikola Vucevic | -0.9 |
Would you look at that? The player with the highest EPM of the bunch is the one rated the lowest on 2K25!
The thing that bugs me the most about this is that 2K is supposed to be doing some projecting for the upcoming season when they release these rankings. And with the signs he flashed last season, Murray is on his way to becoming a top-tier two-way forward in this league – hopefully joining the ranks of guys like Mikal Bridges (84) and OG Anunoby (84) someday very soon.
You'd think the signs he's shown would earn him a couple more points on his overall 2K rating, but I guess not.
