Drew Eubanks has been around the league since 2018. After going undrafted, he spent a few seasons with the Spurs, a couple of which were with their G League affiliate. Now, he's with the Sacramento Kings and is happy with what he's seen in training camp.

During the 2025 offseason, the Kings signed Eubanks to a one-year contract that will see him become an unrestricted free agent after this season. His is one of ten contracts that the front office is going to have to make some serious decisions about.

Eubanks is not known as a shooter, a playmaker, or a ball-handler. What Drew brings to the Kings is physicality, both on offense and defense, that helps control the paint at both ends of the court. He's also a solid rebounder and shot-blocker, both of which are attributes the Kings need.

Eubanks say Kings' training camp is tough

Like several players on the Kings' current roster, Eubanks is in his first training camp with the Kings. At this point, he has been through a few of them with different NBA franchises over the years. As such, Drew has a good perspective on what they are like.

Keeping in mind that he meant this in a positive way, Eubanks has said that this might be the toughest training camp he's been through. The coaches are putting the players through their paces and trying to get them into a rhythm as quickly as possible.

This is a reflection of head coach Doug Christie's push towards building a resilient team dynamic with a focus on defense. Given Eubanks' strong defensive presence, it's not surprising that he would be in the middle of that maelstrom. A good performance this season could mean an extension.

Eubanks is happy with his new team

Reporters asked Eubanks what his thoughts were on the team and if anyone was standing out to him. Nique Clifford was the first name he mentioned due to his strong decision-making. He also referenced Isaiah Stevens, thanks to his full-court play and being a vocal teammate.

Drew would go on to say how impressed he was with the team, calling them "the best top-to-bottom group I've been around." This certainly bodes well for the season, given the concerns many have had with how imbalanced the roster appears to be from the outside.

While there are no guarantees going into 2025-2026, it's good to see a veteran player in the NBA who is new to the Kings being so positive about what he's seeing in training camp.
