While the Sacramento Kings are looking to trade their biggest stars, there aren't many teams that are openly interested. In the case of Zach LaVine, the main suitor appears to be the Milwaukee Bucks. If that's the case, the main trade targets for the Kings have to be A.J. Green and Ryan Rollins.
The Kings' roster has two major problems. First and foremost is that they struggle defensively, particularly on their starting lineup, where several players just don't seem to excel in their own end. The other problem is age, as Sacramento has one of the oldest rosters in the league.
As such, the upcoming rebuild is likely to be focused on younger athletes who play defense. Keegan Murray will be at the center of that as a young superstar who is well-known for playing good defense. While there are certain players the Kings will keep, the goal is to build a new team around him
Given the Kings' payroll woes, that means they are going to be trying to organize big trades for their big contracts. The problem is that the number of teams willing to take on a big contract for a player like LaVine is rather limited. So far, the Bucks are the only team showing interest, but that could work
The Bucks have two names the Kings need
Ryan Rollins is a 23-year-old guard who was drafted by the Warriors in 2022. While he has always had potential, it's really this season with the Bucks that he's shown how much he's grown. He's stepped up when Giannis Antetokounmpo has been out more than once, earning praise from the Greek Freak.
Giannis Antetokounmpo on Ryan Rollins: “I’ve been in the NBA 13 years. I’ve had 200-300 teammates. A jump for a guy that came two years ago to a two-way contract, non-guaranteed, a guaranteed deal, to the player he is today. I don’t think I’ve seen a jump like that in my career.” pic.twitter.com/ZFhaplgI44

On the other side, A.J. Green went undrafted in 2022, though he did end up being signed by the Bucks. After a couple of seasons in the G League, Green moved to the main roster and has established himself as a reliable three-and-D player for Milwaukee.
Rollins and Green are the exact types of players the Kings are looking for. Young and impactful, they are impressive defenders who remain consistent offensive threats. If the Bucks really want LaVine to shoot alongside Giannis, then Rollins and Green absolutely must be part of the deal.
Given the size of LaVine's salary, there will either need to be a third team involved somehow, or the Kings will have to take another player from the Bucks they neither want nor need. However it works out, these two young guns could be integral to making Sacramento's rebuild work.
