Tonight, the Sacramento Kings (9-10) go on the road to face the Portland Trail Blazers (7-12). The Blazers have been a tougher out than many people expected heading into the 2024-25 regular season. A big reason why has been the play of rookie big man Donovan Clingan. He's only a month into his official professional career, but Clingan has already established himself as a strong rim protector.
Unfortunately for the Blazers, a knee injury against the Houston Rockets has put Clingan's status into question. So, will he be available for tonight's game? Who else will be missing for thee Blazers? Who are the Kings missing? In this article, we provide a full injury report.
Sacramento Kings Injury Report
The Kings will continue to be without Devin Carter (shoulder), Isaiah Crawford (ankle), and Mason Jones (hamstring).
All three of those players have been regulars on the injury report. The two notable names on the list are Trey Lyles (calf) and DeMar DeRozan (back). This is Lyles' second straight game being out with a calf strain he suffered on Monday against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Lyles will become a regular on this report, as he's expected to miss roughly a month with this injury.
DeRozan won't play tonight, but he will (probably) be back way sooner. The word "probably" is in parenthesis because, while DeRozan's status is more of a day-to-day than week-to-week basis, this back injury is the same one that caused him to miss three games earlier in the season. So, there is a chance that this could become a nagging concern.
Portland Trail Blazers Injury Report
The Blazers have had very similar injury luck to the Kings. According to Spotrac, the Kings have had 52 total player games lost to injury. Meanwhile, the Blazers have lost 55 games.
Clingan, the player who we mentioned in the introduction, ended up suffering a grade 2 MCL sprain. He will not play in tonight's game, and he'll be re-evaluated in two weeks. The only other player who is definitely out is Matisse Thybulle (ankle).
There are three players whose status will be worth monitoring as we get closer to tipoff. Jerami Grant (knee) and Robert Williams III (concussion) are listed as doubtful (a roughly 25% chance of playing tonight). As for Kris Murray (chest), he's listed as questionable (a roughly 50% chance of playing).
After this, the Kings' next game will be on Sunday (December 1) when they host the San Antonio Spurs.
