Domantas Sabonis brings a lot to the Sacramento Kings. He's an elite scorer, not to mention the top rebounder in the NBA. That's three seasons running at this point. On top of that, Sabonis is one heck of a passer for a big man, though that's mostly a symptom of how many rebounds he gets.

The only real hole in his game is on defense. Admittedly, it's a pretty big gap for a team's center. When he's the primary defender, his lack of quickness on the closeout often opens up three-point shots for the opposition. His fundamentals are solid, but defensive effort is an issue, as is foul trouble.

What Sabonis does and doesn't bring to the table is well documented at this point. Keeping in mind how deep he is into his career, he is game is unlikely to change much. But there is another aspect to how he plays that doesn't get talked about enough.

Specifically, the man is incredibly durable. Even when he takes a stiff shot on the court, likely from Draymond Green, Sabonis tends to get up and keep going like nothing is wrong. And when he does end up with an actual injury of some kind, he bounces back surprisingly quickly.

Domantas Sabonis is the Wolverine

The subject of his surprising durability and endurance came up during the recent Sacramento Kings media day. Reporters were curious about how he keeps rolling through all the physical stuff he deals with in the post each and every game.

Apparently, he's Wolverine.

For those who aren't familiar, Wolverine is a popular Marvel Comics character who has appeared in comics, animated series, movies, and video games for decades. He is a mutant with powers such as enhanced senses, claws, and the ability to heal quickly from virtually any injury or illness.

Apparently, the comparisons started when he was young and have followed him into adulthood. That being said, Sabonis is only 29 years old, so his body can still handle the abuse in the paint and bounce back. A few years from now, that will be a much different story.

Unless Sabonis is hiding something, he's probably not a mutant with a healing factor. Like any other athlete, age will catch up with him, as will the wear and tear on his body. Until then, Domantas needs to keep up the work and put his endurance to the test, maybe on defense.
