Before the upcoming Sacramento Kings' 2025-26 NBA season, veteran guard Dennis Schroder is looking to lead Germany to a EuroBasket championship. Schroder has played well in EuroBasket. However, will the guard become a EuroBasket, or FIBA Hall of Famer someday? Tim Bontemps recently addressed the question, ESPN's Brian Windhorst & The Hoop Collective.

"This is probably going to drive people insane... Dennis Schroder is going to make the (EuroBasket) Hall of Fame," Bontemps said. "And I think he's definitely going to make the Hall of Fame if they win this tournament, which is gonna cause people to go berserk. It's a World Basketball Hall of Fame of all levels. When you look at Dennis Schroder's international career, I think if they win this tournament, he's gonna make the Hall of Fame eventually."

Dennis Schroder's EuroBasket career

The FIBA Basketball Hall of Fame honors players, coaches and more from international basketball. Schroder has participated in plenty of EuroBasket events over the years. In fact, he made his National Team debut at the U18 level in 2011. He would later make his national team debut at the senior level in 2014.

Schroder has since helped Germany's national team compete in many EuroBasket tournaments. He is currently averaging 20.2 points, 6.7 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game for his FIBA Basketball career. So far in EuroBasket 2025, the 31-year-old is recording per game averages of 20.2 points, 5.7 assists and 3.3 rebounds per outing.

A championship would certainly help Schroder's argument for earning a Hall of Fame selection. He has certainly become one of the better players for Germany basketball. The Germany basketball team still has work to do in the 2025 tournament, though, as they will play Luka Doncic and Slovenia on Wednesday.

Even if Germany fails to win a championship this year, Schroder still has a legitimate Hall of Fame argument. His statistics are impressive and his impact cannot be denied.

The Kings' offseason moves forward

Meanwhile, the Kings are focused on placing the finishing touches on what has been an up and down offseason. Sacramento is not expected to compete for a playoff spot in 2025-26, but anything can happen once the new season begins. Perhaps Dennis Schroder's veteran presence will help the Kings throughout the year.

Domantas Sabonis and Zach LaVine will try to lead the way as the Kings look to upset expectations. The Western Conference features plenty of talent, however, so nothing will come easy during the upcoming campaign.
