In case you were worried that the Sacramento Kings' 2025-2026 NBA Season wasn't enough of a tire fire, Dennis Schroder is here to help. After the Kings lost to the Lakers on December 28, Schroder apparently tried to fight Luka Doncic and has now been suspended for three games. Sigh.

It's fair to say that the current season is basically a wash for the Kings. After the Pelicans picked up their ninth win of the season, Sacramento is back to being dead last in the Western Conference. The only team in the league with a worse record right now is the Pacers.

Honestly, that might not hold out much longer. Indiana has just won two games in a row, while the Kings are currently riding a seven-game losing streak. Their next three games see them take on the Rockets, Lakers, and Knicks, none of which are likely to generate wins for Sacramento.

As such, any good news is something to be cherished by Kings fans. Point guard Dennis Schroder getting suspended for three games for trying to fight Luka Doncic is the exact opposite of that. It is yet another nail in the coffin of the Kings' 2025-2026 season, which isn't even half over.

The Kings will trade Dennis Schroder the first chance they get

In typical Luka fashion, he was chirping at Dennis all game with Schroder talking a bit of trash back his way. There were a couple of times during the course of the game that it looked like things might get out of control on the court, though cooler heads seemingly prevailed.

Apparently, that peace didn't hold, as after the game was over, Dennis tracked Luka down off the court and reportedly tried to fight him. There aren't a lot of details about the situation beyond that, but trying to punch one of the top players in the league is usually more than enough.

What happens on the court is one thing, but trying to fight an opponent after the game is a whole different problem. Like the rest of the Kings' roster, Schroder was already frustrated with their terrible season. From there, it likely didn't take much to fan the flames. And Luka is good at that.

This is not what the Kings needed right now. Schroder is a decent bench presence, but he's not playing well enough to offset this kind of undisciplined behavior and the penalties that come with it. At this point, the Kings would probably take a washing machine in exchange for Schroder.

If you're wondering if that was a Semi-Pro reference, it was.
