Keeping in mind that the 2025-2026 season hasn't even started yet, there's no harm in looking at what might be coming the Kings' way in the 2026 offseason. And there are a few players to watch.

One of them is the Bulls' Coby White, who will be an unrestricted free agent next season. That assumes that the Bulls don't offer him an extension before that date. If they're smart, they will.

White is an integral part of what the Bulls are building alongside Josh Giddey, Matas Buzelis, and Yuki Kawamura. This is a high-octane offense anchored by young, hungry players.

Coby White might be on the move

What makes White such a compelling player is his scoring. He can hit the three, drive the lane, an pull off a pull-up when the situation calls for it. Plus, he's strong enough to draw fouls and create space.

These are all the reasons Bulls want to keep Coby White. At the same time, these are the reasons Coby will do incredibly well on the open market if he chooses to pursue free agency.

If he does, he's definitely a player the Kings should be keeping an eye on. He's a guard who is focused on scoring, which the Kings have a lot of, but White is a player worth making room for.

What Coby could do for the Kings

While the Kings have a roster loaded with shooters, they need someone with White's strength and intensity. Coby can create offense through force, speed, and sheer ability.

The Kings' offense could really use someone with this explosivity and precision. They have a lot of shot takers, but not enough players who put the opposing team's defense on their heels.

If it is looking like Coby wants to play the free agent game, the Bulls might want to trade him before the deadline so they get something out of his departure. It would be a good idea, not to mention kind of funny, if the Kings picked up yet another Bulls player.
