If it feels like the Sacramento Kings just played the New Orleans Pelicans, it is because they did. On Saturday, the Kings earned their first win since before the trade deadline (leaning on one of their newest players to do it) – beating the Pelicans 123-118.
However, the Kings aren't done with the Pelicans yet. On Wednesday, they play their first of back-to-back road games against the team that beat them six times last season.
But who will the Kings have available to them for tonight's clash? What about the Pelicans? Here is the full injury report ahead of this game.
Sacramento Kings Injury Report
After a rocky start to the season in this category, the Sacramento Kings have been a pretty healthy team this season. The only two players listed on their injury report right now are Devin Carter and Isaiah Crawford, and the only reason they are on there is because they aren't playing because of their G-League assignment.
Crawford has been a fixture in the Stockton Kings' G-League rotation all season. So, seeing his name on the report is not surprising at all.
Carter, on the other hand, has been playing consistent NBA minutes since his return from injury. However, in the Kings' recent win over the New Orleans Pelicans, he didn't play at all – likely because of all the new faces being integrated into the lineup ahead of him. The Kings probably figure that it is better for now to let Carter get minutes on the G-League team than ride the bench at the NBA level.
Speaking of new faces, Zach LaVine, Jonas Valanciunas, and Jake LaRavia will all be in uniform.
New Orleans Pelicans Injury Report
When it comes to injuries, the Pelicans are the exact opposite of the Kings. Whereas the Kings have been one of the healthier teams in the league, the Pelicans have been one of the most injury-riddled ones. And unfortunately for them, this game will be no different.
As it stands, the Pelicans will be without at least four of their players. Brandon Boston (ankle), Herb Jones (shoulder), Dejounte Murray (Achilles), and Kelly Olynyk (not with the team) are all listed as out for this game.
CJ McCollum, the team's third-leading scorer (22.2 PPG), is the only player on the injury report with some ambiguity surrounding his status. McCollum is listed as questionable (personal reasons), which usually means that the player has a 50/50 chance of playing in the game.
After this game, the Kings will play the Pelicans on the road again on Thursday, February 13.
