The Sacramento Kings are one day away from officially starting their 2024-25 season against the Minnesota Timberwolves. And as the season premiere gets closer, fans can't help but fantasize about the myriad of ways this season could go.

That's the beauty of sports. No matter how good a team is, there are numerous ways their year could go. In this article, we try to summarize all those alternate Earths into three different outcomes: the best, most likely, and worst scenarios. Now, without further ado, let's get into the list.

Best Case Scenario

Technically, for every NBA team, the best case scenario is to be the last team standing. However, that is only a realistic goal for a handful of teams each year, and as much as I would love for the Kings to be one of those teams, that just isn't really the case.

A more attainable best outcome is the Western Conference Finals berth that DeMar DeRozan promised us. Not only would this mean that the Kings won their first playoff series since 2006 (and their first conference finals since 2002), but it would also signal that the DeMar DeRozan trade was a success, that De'Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis played great, and that Keon Ellis and Keegan Murray took significant strides. Let's all hope that this is the timeline we get to live in.
