After defeating the Phoenix Suns in their regular season finale, the Sacramento Kings have finished the 2024-25 NBA regular season, and for the second straight season, they are headed to the Play-In Tournament.
Today, the Sacramento Kings begin their journey to try and clinch the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. To do so, the team will have to win two single-elimination games (one at home and one on the road).
Their first opponent in this odyssey is the Dallas Mavericks. After one of the most bizarre seasons in NBA history, the Mavericks come to Golden 1 Center with the hopes of ending the Kings' season.
But who will the Kings have available to them? What about the Mavericks? Here is the full injury report ahead of the first round of the play-in.
Sacramento Kings Injury Report
Outside of a few brief rough patches, the Kings have been a pretty healthy team this season. On the year, they have the fewest dollars lost from player injuries of any team in the NBA (per Spotrac). Lately, though, their luck hasn't been so great, as the team has been regularly had two or three rotation-level players listed on their injury report.
Tonight will be a similar story, as two rotation players find themselves on the injury sheet. One we know will be out for certain is Jake LaRavia, who is listed as "out" with a thumb injury. On March 28, it was reported that LaRavia would be re-evaluated in seven to ten days. However, it has been 19 days since that estimate, and LaRavia has not returned to the court.
The other guy who will definitely be missing in action is Malik Monk. Monk left the Kings' win against the Detroit Pistons early with a calf injury and did not return. It has since been reported that, for the second straight year, Monk would be out for the remainder of the regular season and the play-in.
Dallas Mavericks Injury Report
As for the Mavericks, they have been the antithesis of the Kings when it comes to injuries. They are fourth in dollars lost to player injuries this year.
For this game, the Mavericks will continue to be without Kyrie Irving (knee) and Olivier-Maxence Prosper (wrist), both of whom had season-ending surgeries. Anthony Davis (adductor) is listed as probably (giving him a roughly 75% chance of playing), and Brandon Williams (oblique) is questionable (more like a 50/50 shot).
If the Kings win this game, they will play the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday, April 18.
