3. Keegan Murray

Keegan Murray is a big part of the Kings’ future. They feel like he can be one of their two or three top scoring options along the line and maybe even an All-Star. This two-game stretch without Fox was a chance for Murray to show that he can really be that guy.

That is a lot to ask from a young player, but if the Kings want to get better and win quickly, they need him to get there sooner rather than later. This time around, he just didn’t deliver. In a way, it is okay because he still has some time to get there, but on the other hand, it was a big part of why they dropped this game.

He finished last night’s game with 7 points, shooting 3-12 from the field and 1-8 from behind the arc, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist. His shot simply hasn’t been falling. Over the last two games, he went 1-15 from three. This happens from time to time, especially with young players, but if his shot isn’t falling, he has to find other ways to impact the game.

Last season, Murray worked hard on the glass when he didn’t shoot well, but that wasn’t there last night either. Next time around, he needs to have more of an impact and not let so many other young players outplay him.
