Target #1: Clint Capela

Capela is like a more durable, less offensively capable version of Rob Williams III. His ceiling is probably a bit lower, but his track record of staying on the floor probably makes his floor a bit higher.

The 29-year-old Hawks center is the prototypical rim-runner. He’d give the Kings a different look on offense – probably a bit similar to what Javale McGee can provide, but with fresher legs.

Defensively, Capela is a very solid rim protector and could be a useful player against teams with serious size. At $17 million this season, it may take some creativity to bring Capela in without giving up too much from the Kings core.

Atlanta is in a weird spot. No one expects them to contend for a top slot in the East, but everyone assumes they’ll be a playoff team.

Is there a world where the Trae Young experience totally bottoms out, and the Hawks blow it up this season? Not likely. But if so, the Kings should try to pick up a bit of the fallout.
