B/R proposes Davion Mitchell be traded to the Toronto Raptors

The exact details of the trade are the following:

This trade has some flaws showing immediately.

B/R suggests the Kings trade away one of their most valuable defensive assets for another defensive asset, but lose two picks in the process.

The Sacramento defense struggles immensely in the 2022-23 NBA season, ranking 24th in defensive efficiency. While of course, Precious Achiuwa would be a good addition, his inconsistency on the Raptors is not worth losing a potential star in Davion Mitchell.

The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 9.2 points, 6 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game for the Toronto Raptors last season on 20.7 minutes per game. While his stats are solid and he makes a great defensive asset, it doesn’t equate to Davion Mitchell and two second-round picks.

The best part about this trade would be that Achiuwa is much more flexible than Mitchell because he directly benefits the interior by giving Keegan Murray a chance to shine defending the block while Achiuwa guards the wing.

Grade for the trade: C

The reasoning is there, but this is not a trade the Sacramento Kings should consider.
