The NBA Draft is always a highly anticipated event, offering teams the opportunity to bolster their rosters with promising young talent. For the Sacramento Kings, the 2023 NBA Draft holds particular significance, as for the first time in a long time, they are picking outside the lottery. As the Kings aim to build a competitive and well-rounded team to stay a true contender, evaluating and selecting the right talent becomes paramount, making this draft a critical juncture for the franchise’s future.

Here are three intriguing forwards the Sacramento Kings should target in the 2023 NBA Draft:

1. Brice Sensabaugh, Ohio State

Sensabaugh is a highly intriguing prospect in the 2023 NBA Draft. Standing at 6’6″ with a strong build, Sensabaugh possesses excellent mobility and athleticism for his size. His agility allows him to switch on defense and guard multiple positions effectively. Sensabaugh is an outstanding shot-blocker, utilizing his length and timing to alter opponents’ shots at the rim.

Offensively, Sensabaugh has shown flashes of potential. He has a soft touch around the basket and displays good footwork in the post. While his scoring repertoire is still developing, he has demonstrated the ability to finish with authority at the rim. Sensabaugh’s high basketball IQ enables him to make smart decisions and contribute as a passer, particularly in pick-and-roll situations.

As for how Sensabaugh would fit with the Kings, his defensive versatility would be a valuable asset. Sacramento has struggled with their interior defense, and Sensabaugh could help address that issue with his shot-blocking ability and switchability. Additionally, his mobility and finishing skills could complement the Kings’ fast-paced offensive style, providing an additional scoring option in transition.
