Kings: 4 Potential free agent targets with ties to Mike Brown
By Logan Struck
3. Andre Iguodala
Mike Brown built many relationships during his six seasons in Golden State. One of the more prominent relationships is with Andre Iguodala. The 39-year-old, 19-year veteran forward might be on the brink of retirement, but he is just as valuable off the court as he ever has been on.
The four-time champion could be the veteran presence needed in the Sacramento Kings locker room. Iguodala appeared in just eight games this season and played 19 minutes total in the Warriors finals series against the Boston Celtics last season, yet still a big part of their success.
Mike Brown has had some high praise for Iguodala over the years, even while Iguodala is not making an impact on the court (via The Mercury News):
"“Andre Iguodala doesn’t get enough credit. I know he’s not playing but just his voice, his presence, he’s always saying the right thing. It uplifts all of us; it uplifted me.”"
Iguodala, of course, would not crack the rotation for the Kings. But, even if he did play, he is such an experienced player that he always makes the right play. While Iguodala’s retirement is still in the air, if he returned for another year, he might want to reunite with Mike Brown and help a young Kings team by being a locker room and bench leader.
