Key games in April and what the Kings need to improve on

March looks pretty grueling, doesn’t it? That’s a very rough few weeks of games for a team looking to insert themselves into the playoffs for the first time in 16 years. The motivation should be there, and head coach Mike Brown is no stranger to these types of moments. You have to feel pretty comfortable with him leading this Kings team into battle.

Only five games will be played in April to close out the regular season. In the tight, close-knit Western Conference these will be intense matchups. The Kings will face San Antonio and Golden State at home. After, they head on the road to see the Dallas Mavericks once again as well as the Denver Nuggets and New Orleans Pelicans.

Hopefully, the Nuggets are resting some players at that point to make it a little easier, but you never know how these next few weeks are going to pan out. Look for the Kings to make a move in the buyout market pretty soon if the interior defense doesn’t improve during the first few games back.

Like mentioned above the defense just has to be better. The offense has been lethal and has turned into the identity of this Kings team. However, in order to make the playoffs and eventually win in the playoffs, you need to be competent on both ends of the court. I feel confident in Mike Brown and company to continue this success and build on it in the second half of the season.
