Moves by Kings McNair that finally flipped the Franchise: Hiring Mike Brown as Head Coach

McNair could have gone a number of different directions with his head coaching position coming into this season. He could have taken someone with no experience so they could grow and learn alongside the young team that hadn’t won yet.

Instead of trying to find the genius hire that many overlooked, McNair went with someone who has gotten multiple head coaching opportunities and even had a few end on uninspiring notes.

Mike Brown was the selected man to lead the team. He had been working with Steve Kerr and the Golden State Warriors most recently and it was there where Brown seemingly became the leader the Kings have shown they needed.

From day one, Brown has been displaying his confidence and belief in the players and roster he has. His statements seem to always hit home and be the right strings to pull as the head coach and because of the environment he has already installed the Kings are far improved as a locker room.

When he needs to calm down on the team he will but more often than not he seems to say the right things in a positive light. The locker room has bought in already and things should only grow stronger from here.

Without the right head coach, a team isn’t going to climb from the NBA’s basement to a playoff contender. Mike Brown has proven he was the perfect hire for this job.
