The Kings have made it clear that they are no longer interested in pursuing a deal for Ben Simmons, which likely puts an end to the 76ers’ pursuit of Fox, but there are ways to work around that. A third team could get involved to take on Simmons and help Philadelphia bring in Fox to pursue a championship.

Joel Embiid is playing out of his mind this season and is certainly a candidate for MVP right now but the 76ers are still missing that one piece. Embiid has found some help from Tobias Harris and other role players this season but when the playoffs come, he will need another star to take some of the pressure off.

De’Aaron Fox would be the perfect partner for Embiid down the stretch. When Embiid steps out to the perimeter, Fox can attack the dish himself or kick it out to open shooters when the defense closes.

I think the 76ers are the best team in the East right now and would be my pick to win advance to the NBA Finals. Adding De’Aaron Fox would help them get over the hump and reach the ultimate goal later this summer.

Sacramento may not want to deal for Simmons but they could look to other teams like the Pacers, Warriors, or Celtics to get involved to make things work out financially.

Look for the 76ers to be aggressive prior to the deadline in order to bring in another star that can carry them deep into the playoffs next to Joel Embiid. Fox is one of several candidates to help them get to the top of the East.
