De’Aaron Fox should have a robust market at the trade deadline.

With the NBA trade deadline just about a week away, the Sacramento Kings need to showcase De’Aaron Fox. Fox will be one of the hottest names on the market as the Kings have turned toward building around Tyrese Haliburton – or at least that should be the case.

Sacramento is still reeling near the bottom of the Western Conference with no indication of a playoff run anytime soon. After signing Fox to a mega-extension, it is time for yet another reset for both the Kings and Fox. While his career has not ushered the Kings into the playoffs, that does not mean Fox cannot be a high-level player on a playoff team.

Defense is a weak point in his game, that is not a secret. Fox has been far from sturdy on that end of the floor but his speed and athleticism make him a deadly guard when attacking the paint. He can be a difference-maker in the postseason as a quick, attacking guard.

The NBA seems pretty wide open right now with no clear favorite to run the course. The Eastern Conference is especially open. Several contenders have looming point guard questions, sliding them into the mix for De’Aaron Fox if he is indeed available at the deadline.

With an expansive market for their starting point guard, the Kings should absolutely look to deal De’Aaron Fox over the next week.
