What do the Sacramento Kings need to change as they head into 2022?

2022 is upon us and the Sacramento Kings are the same franchise as they have been for over a decade – a desperate team still sitting on the outskirts of the playoffs. Despite a new wave of talent creeping into the organization, the Kings have not been able to piece it all together this season.

With the COVID list tearing teams apart across the league, the Kings have not been able to form a consistent roster lately. De’Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield have been the highlights of several key trade discussions around the internet while Sacramento looks to the future once again.

Not much has changed despite so many new faces, coaching changes, and turmoil in the NBA. Sacramento needs to turn things around but there just is not a clear answer for how they could do that right now. The best thing to hope for at this point is a string of good luck that can turn their fortunes around.

The New Year gives everyone a chance to set new goals and aspirations before ultimately giving up and reverting back to their old selves. For the Sacramento Kings, New Year’s resolutions have to stick in 2022 if they want to finally be on the right track.
