Today’s the decisive day where the Sacramento Kings decide how best to utilize the ninth overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft and ultimately set a course for the direction of the franchise as a whole moving forward. Fortunately, today presents an opportunity for Kings fans to come together and discuss the exciting moves the team could potentially make.
Naturally, we just can’t seem to agree on anything. Many interesting options present themselves for Sacramento. Among the names of prospects most commonly linked, a few stand above the rest. Alperen Sengun is taking the discussion by storm across the league, after winning the Turkish Basketball Super League MVP award.
Josh Giddey out of Australia has also emerged as a foreign sensation, with a talent for playmaking few possess at his age. There’s also Franz Wagner, the German big man who declared for the draft after a very successful freshman season at Michigan. Of course, it’s always worth watching any prospects that drop below their consensus spot.
Some people are even advocating for the Sacramento Kings to trade the pick for an established player in a win-now move. In fact, it was even reported by Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer that Sacramento may be looking to do just that.
But this isn’t about what the front office wants, or what a reporter wants, it’s about what the fans want. Because if there’s one thing we can all agree upon, it’s that we each believe our opinion is the best opinion.
In an open poll of over two hundred Sacramento Kings fans, Moses Moody was the most desired potential prospect of the 2021 NBA Draft.
Moses Moody is a name that has been linked to Sacramento for some time now, and it appears the feeling is mutual. Following a private workout with the Kings, Moody had a lot of good things to say about the team, per NBC Sports.
“I got a good feel for the people, the organization, the front office and I got to see the facilities,” Moody said. “I feel like they have a really good young team. They have a lot of potential and could really grow into something special.”

In his one season as an Arkansas Razorback, Moodey averaged 16.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game while shooting 42.7 percent from the field and 35.8 percent from deep. His 81.2 percent shooting from the free throw line also bodes well for his shot translating to the NBA.
In a Twitter poll of over 200 fans conducted by A Royal Pain, Moody was the runaway favorite prospect to be drafted by the team with the ninth overall pick.
A whopping 51.3% of fans preferred Moody over any other prospect that would be available. His length and scoring ability will prove invaluable as the team looks to replace sharpshooter Buddy Hield for a more affordable long-term option.
The draft begins at 5 pm PST, check back in with A Royal Pain for more coverage and updates as the action unfolds.
