18. Greivis Vasquez – Venezuela
Greivis Vasquez was a flash in the pan for Sacramento. He was aquired during the summer of 2013 via trade from the Pelicans, but lasted just 18 games before he was a victim of the Rudy Gay deal.
Vasquez started every game that he played for the Kings, averaging nearly ten points per game while cutting his turnovers in half from the season before. While we would have loved to have seen the extended version of the Greivis Vasquez project, the acquisition of Gay was necessary and the Raptiors obviously wanted a servicable point guard in exchange.
Stats with Kings: 18 games, 25.8 minutes, 9.8 points, 5.3 assists
17. Alex Len – Ukraine
17. At time of writing, Alex Len had played just nine games with the Kings, but was becoming loved for his size and tenacity. His future in Sacramento is certainly up in the air, but the team would be wise to at least explore their options when it comes to re-signing him.
Len was one of the pieces that the Kings received in return when they cut their losses and traded Dewayne Dedmon during the 2019-’20 season. His large frame and ability to defend the rim were both very welcomed for a team who lacked players with both.
Stats with Kings: 16.7 minutes, 6.6 points, 7.1 rebounds
16. Donté Greene – Germany
Donté Greene was traded twice before he ever stepped foot on an NBA floor after being selected with the 28th overall pick in the 2008 Draft. He had a difficult time fully cracking in to the Kings rotation as he was playing third fiddle behind John Salmons and Francisco Garcia.
He showed improvement across the board in his second season, mostly due to his improved shooting touch. But he reverted back to his old ways, shooting an abysmal 27 percent from deep in his final two seasons in Sacramento.
For me personally, he is best known for jumping off of the bench and celebrating Tyreke Evans’ half court buzzer beater while the ball was still in mid-air. That will always be ultra-impressive to me.
Stats with Kings: 235 games, 16.8 minutes, 6.1 points, 2.4 rebounds
15. Darius Songaila – Lithuania
Darius Songaila has a place in the hearts of Kings fans, but more for the era he played in rather than his production.
Songaila was on Sacramento’s roster from 2003-2005, coinciding with some of the franchise’s glory years. While he was not a high volume contributor, he played rotational minutes and occasionally came up with some timely baskets. Songaila carved out a respectable eight year career, his best season coming with the Bulls when he averaged 9.2 points and 4 rebounds per game.
Stats with Kings: 154 games, 17.2 minutes, 6.1 points, 3.7 rebounds
