Which Reality Is Better?

It is a testament to De’Aaron Fox’s off-court personality and on-court talent that it is already hard to imagine him playing for any other team. Thus, it is instinctual to want to push back against any scenario where we give up on him after just one year for another guy we theoretically had just drafted. Fox fits so much into Sacramento’s culture, both as a basketball team and as a city, that it would be heart-breaking to see him in a Knicks jersey.

On the other hand, the Mavericks already have a solid playoff spot, while the Kings are four games out from the eighth seed. Ultimately, it is hard to argue with results. Although it should be made clear that it would be foolish to give up on Fox-Bagley as a core so soon, at the moment, the verdict has to go to the alternate reality.

For now.
