Sacramento Kings center Richaun Holmes watched ‘The Last Dance’ on Sunday night with the rest of us. What did the Chicago native think of the first two episodes?

Like most anyone who is a fan of North American sports, many of the Sacramento Kings’ players tuned in to watch the first two episodes of “The Last Dance”. While we can assume that every player on the roster will see the docu-series in its entirety, we know for sure that Richaun Holmes was seeing it live.

A few hours before show time on Sunday afternoon, Holmes fired off a tweet that read, “An inside look to the mind of perhaps the greatest athlete of all time….I’m hype lol.” Like the rest of us, Holmes was waiting all day (and all month, really) for the fun to begin.

Three minutes after the show began, Holmes sent out another tweet:

Holmes continued to live tweet the event despite his insistence that he would do his best to keep quiet since “we all watching the same thing.” A couple of the big takeaways from Holmes’ Twitter feed on Sunday night were his thoughts on Bill Wennington and Scottie Pippen.

One of Holmes’ first live tweets was regarding Wennington and how nice of a guy he is:

"“s/o bill wennington one of the nicest people I ever met”"

We’re not exactly sure where Holmes and Wennington might have crossed paths, but it might have been during Holmes’ childhood. He grew up in Chicago and was probably a Bulls fan growing up. But he was born in 1993, and would have been just six years old by the time Wennington was done playing in Chicago. Maybe he met him at and autograph signing? Maybe Wennington came back to the community and participated in local camps? We don’t really know for sure. But we know that he is a nice guy.

Like everyone else who watched the first two episodes, Holmes had his opinions on the Scottie Pippen situation. The second episode in particular highlighted Pippen’s contract disputes and painted a picture of one of the best players in the league being criminally underpaid. Holmes’ tweet about it:

A simple message that got across a thought that we were all thinking. And while Holmes certainly is not one of the top players in the NBA, he is seemingly underpaid for what his production was this last year and should be again once play resumes.

Holmes will be one of the best bargains in the league next season with a $5 million price tag. Along with Nemanja Bjelica, the Kings should have two of the more team-friendly contracts on their roster.

To finish off the night, Holmes fired off one last tweet as soon as the second episode concluded:

There have been some good sports documentaries that have been produced in the past, and we are simply scratching the surface of ‘The Last Dance’. It is too early for us to make the declaration that this is the best sports doc that we’ve ever seen, it certainly started off with a bang.

Based on what we hear from people who have already viewed the documentary in its entirety, the two episodes that we have already seen are the two least-interesting of the ten.

Buckle up. The next two episodes will air this coming Sunday at 9PM ET.
