#1. Isaiah Thomas

The Isaiah Thomas in Sacramento saga is just so crazy. He was the 60th and final player selected in the 2011 NBA Draft, a spot that doesn’t produce a lot of long-time contributors. But Thomas was a revelation even from his first season, in which he averaged 11.5 points per game and made the All-Rookie Second Team despite winning Rookie of the Month twice.

He exploded in his third season, upping his scoring average to 20.3 points per game to go along with 6.3 assists. He even received a couple of Most Improved Player votes that year. After the conclusion of that year, the Kings inexplicably shipped Thomas to Phoenix for next to nothing in exchange, a move that we ranked third on the worst moves in franchise history list.

He suffered a bit of a regression with the Suns though he was still a second-round revelation, but it seems as though Phoenix was even shorter sighted than the Kings. They gave Thomas 46 games before shipping him off to Boston where his career took a very unlikely turn.

By the end of his second season with the Celtics, he was a two-time All-Star, a member of the All-NBA Second Team, and was the best player on a team that made it to the Eastern Conference Finals. In 2016-’17, Thomas averaged 28.9 points per game and came in fifth in MVP voting.
