We’ve been thinking a lot about the Sacramento Kings over the last month. But we almost forgot one of the most important members of the family.

There are a lot of things that we are missing about the Sacramento Kings. We miss our group of guys. We miss our court. We miss going to the games and smelling the popcorn and hearing the squeaky shoes and chanting “DE-FENSE!”. We miss the competition.

In the hoopla of everything that is going on (or not going on) we may have forgotten about one very important being. Had anyone been checking on Slamson, the Kings beloved, furry mascot? He has been as much of a part of home games as anyone and is our primary source of entertainment when the team underperforms, which it so often does.

How could we let this happen? How could we let one of our own go forgotten? Well, it seems as though Slamson has broken his silence and is doing just fine, though we are a little worried about his quarantine activities.

His first tweet showed a screenshot of a Zoom meeting that was presumably a school lesson, as it seemed like his classmates were the ones who he was chatting with. Then he posted a picture of himself playing NBA 2K, playing a game between the Kings and the Lakers.

His third tweet shows that he is one of us, and doing just fine.

It looks like Slamson is quarantining with another being of the same species, so that is a plus. The den seems tidy as well, though he might need to invest in some furniture other than a medicine ball. Do lions sleep on couches? I’d imagine they do.

It is his latest tweet that gives us most of our concern, however.

If there is one scene in any movie that we’d prefer for Slamson not to watch, it would probably be this one. I can barely get through it with a dry eye. I can’t even imagine what this feline goes through.

You can follow Slamson on his official Twitter account, @Slamsonthelion.
