Who Is Your Favorite Sacramento Kings Player From The Last Two Decades?
We want to find out who your favorite Sacramento Kings player of the last two decades is, March Madness-style. Click the link inside to vote!
In lieu of a certain tournament that should be happening right now, and a playoff race that has been taken from us, we have decided to run our own tournament that combines a March Madness-like style with Sacramento Kings’ recent history.
We have gone through the list of players to put on a Kings jersey over the last 20 years and we asked ourselves, “Which one of these guys is the fan favorite?” Despite the ineptitude and underachievement by the franchise over the last two decades, there have been plenty of loveable and memorable players that have put on the Sacramento purple.
So we decided to find out what you guys think. We want to take the pulse of Kings Nation and see who they really love the most. Did you love Mike Bibby or Jason Williams? Which role player did you like more, Hedo Turkoglu or Scot Pollard? Is DeMarcus Cousins going to be in the Final Four?
We looked up the list of every Kings player since 2000, sorted by games played, and worked our way down and wrote down names of any player that might have had at least a small fan following. We decided on a 32-man pool, half of your typical March Madness bracket. There were some tough decisions made as far as seeding as well as bubble players.
We left off any current players, as we thought it would probably skew the voting, and many of their stories in Sacramento Kings uniforms are just beginning to be written.
So, where can you vote? Anyone with an active Twitter account can log on and search for our handle (@ARoyalPain) or just follow this link. We will be conducting a new round every day, with the Sweet Sixteen coming on Monday afternoon. We appreciate your votes, let’s have some fun!
