Does Anyone Know If Barnes Shaved His Face Yet?

The break from basketball and sports has us thinking about weird stuff. Does anyone know if Sacramento Kings forward Harrison Barnes has shaved his face yet?

I was watching a Sacramento Kings game in early February when I thought to myself that Harrison Barnes was looking rather grizzly lately with his scruffy beard and out-grown hair. A few days later, a report came out that Barnes had vowed to not shave his face or cut his hair until the Kings reached .500, or the season ended, whichever came first.

Barnes apparently made this decision in mid-December, which means that the Kings were within 2-5 games of the .500 mark, depending on the exact date. The report was made public on February 13th when the Kings were 21-33, making Barnes the butt of a few “Kangz”-related jokes.

The Kings began to turn things around in February and early March and were making an unlikely playoff push before the suspension of the season. They were eight games under .500 though, and unlikely to even their record before the season finale. Best case scenario? Barnes would shave before Game 1 of Round 1 of the 2020 Western Conference Playoffs.

So that begs the question: has Harrison Barnes shaved his face yet? Does anyone know?

Technically, the season is not over. The league is unsure whether it will pick up where it left off in the regular season, or if they’ll just jump straight in to the playoffs. So where does that leave Barnes and how much does sticking to his original word mean to him?

In regular cases, we could guess that Barnes is sticking true to his word and letting the hair on his head grow until this entire thing gets figured out. But in this particular instance, there have been calls for men around the world to shave their beards and facial hair to limit the chances of carrying or transmitting the COVID-19 virus. Barnes is a very well-educated individual and is smart enough to do the right thing.

So if we had to guess, Harrison Barnes is walking around the house with a baby face these days.

And his wife probably couldn’t be happier about it.
